Jeryl Dean Kueser

Dean Kueser, age 78, of Richmond, Kansas, passed away on September 16, 2026, at Olathe Medical Center.

Jeryl Dean Kueser was born on April 21, 1948 in Garnett, Kansas, to Joseph and Geraldine (Laws) Kueser. He attended Richmond schools and graduated from Central Heights in the class of 1966. He met the love of his life, Patricia Ann Humiston, during his high school years and they were united in marriage on November 9, 1968. This union was blessed with two daughters.

Dean proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1972. After returning from his service, he and Pat purchased a house in Richmond, Kansas which they made their home for over 50 years.

Dean dedicated many years of hard work to Commodore Trailer Factory and Ottawa Truck before his retirement, and he deeply valued the lifelong friendships he made during his working years.

Dean was always involved with sports, loving both playing and coaching. He was an avid fan of the KU Jayhawks, the Kansas City Royals, as well as the Kansas City Chiefs which he proudly held season tickets for, sharing those memories with his brother and niece. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren meant the world to him.

Dean and Pat enjoyed traveling together, with some of their most memorable trips taking them to Germany, Switzerland, Hawaii, and frequent visits to see family in Colorado. He took great pride in maintaining a beautiful lawn and home.

A devoted Catholic, Dean attended St.Therese Catholic Church in Richmond, Kansas where he faithfully worshiped every week.

Dean was preceded by his parents, brother Donald Kueser and wife June, brother-in-law Marion Humiston, nephew David Hull, and sister-in-law Janet Humiston.

Dean is survived by his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Patricia Kueser, daughter Julie Lickteig and husband Bryan of Littleton, Colorado, daughter Rhonda Prothe and husband Jim of Osawatomie, Kansas. Five grandchildren; Aaron Lickteig and wife Tina, Kelsi Snyder and husband Mark, Dasha Balderston and husband Brady, Zoie Prothe, Eliza Prothe, as well as 10 great-grandchildren. His sister, Marlis Hull and husband Gale, brother-in-laws Gayle Humiston, Dean Humiston and wife Peggy, sister-in-law, Cindy Humiston, and numerous other family and friends.

The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Garnett. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 10:00 A.M at St.Therese Catholic Church in Richmond, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Richmond Cemetery.
