Brian Christopher Dillow, age 46, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away April 22, 2022, at University Health Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. Brian was born January 9, 1976, in Joliet, Illinois, to Howard Dillow and Cheryl (Johnson) Dillow. Brian was an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma.
Brian graduated in 1994 from Iola High School, Iola, Kansas. He attended Allen Community College, Pittsburg State University, and Fort Hays State University. Brian graduated from the University of Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center, Hutchinson, Kansas.
Brian and Lacy Thomas were married September 22, 2001, in Iola, Kansas. They are the parents of three children; Logan, Gracie, and Morgan.
Brian began his law enforcement career as a jailer for the Allen County Sheriff, followed by becoming a police officer for the Humboldt Police Department in 1999. He earned the rank of lieutenant and later became chief of police. He served as Humboldt's police chief for ten years. In recent years, he worked his way up to sales manager at Cable-Dahmer Chevrolet dealership, Independence, Missouri.
Brian's passion was playing baseball and coaching. He spent his lifetime playing baseball and softball and enjoyed coaching his children's sports. He followed the Chicago Cubs with his grandfather, a family tradition that remained his entire life. To continue that family tradition, Brian and Logan went several times to watch the Cubs at Wrigley Field. In addition to his love of baseball and softball, Brian enjoyed running to stay in shape and have a healthy lifestyle.
Brian was preceded in death by brothers, Michael Dillow and Stephen Dillow; grandparents, Perry and Mildred Dillow, and William L. and Velma Morgan.
Brian is survived by Lacy Dillow, Humboldt, Kansas; son, Logan Dillow, Humboldt, Kansas; daughters, Gracie Dillow and Morgan Dillow, Humboldt, Kansas; parents, Howard Dillow, Iola, Kansas, Cheryl Dillow, Kansas City, Missouri; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will greet family and friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A funeral service to honor Brian's life will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2022. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas.
