Agnes Cecilia Sunderland, age 88, of Greeley, Kansas, passed away, Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Golden Heights, Garnett, Kansas. She was born on November 21, 1926, near Independence, Kansas, the daughter of John and Mary (Lehrke) Dalsing. Agnes attended schools in Independence, until the family moved to Greeley when she was 13. She then attended and graduated from St. John's Grade School and Greeley High School with the class of 1944. Agnes was united in marriage to William B. "Jack" Sunderland on November 21, 1946, at St. John's Catholic Church in Greeley, Kansas. He was the love of her life for 68 years until he passed away on January 20, 2015. We think that she loved Jack too much to stay. This union was blessed with two sons, Alan and Bob. She worked for 50 years at The Bank of Greeley. She loved the job, and she loved the Rockers family. The families did lots of things together while the kids were growing up. Agnes worked for St. John's school for 10 years as a secretary until St. John's school closed. She was disappointed when that happened, and she said she missed the hugs at the end of the day. Who could argue with that! Agnes was a member of St. John's Church, the church Altar Society and VFW Auxiliary, all of Greeley. Agnes always enjoyed working the church bazaar. She loved going to bingo with the ladies, country music shows, state fairs, and winning visits to the casinos. Agnes and Jack were avid KU Basketball and Royals fans. One of the main things she loved was being with family, all of the sporting events and gatherings. She will be remembered and missed for her homemade pies and fried chicken. Probably her biggest love was her grandchildren, Carrie, Wendy, Sherry, Jordan, Chance, Dylan, Jake, and Bristol, step grandchildren Marlin, Quentin, Regina, Mandy and all of their children. Agnes was proud to live long enough to see the 5th generation of her family with her great-great-granddaughter. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Dalsing; her husband, Jack Sunderland; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Helen Lalman; and two brothers, Virgil and Jim Dalsing; and her niece, Nancy Fischer. She is survived by her sons, Alan Sunderland and Bob Sunderland and wife Bev, all of Greeley; three sisters, Rita Fischer, Shirley Bowmaker, Charlene Bridges, and their families; seven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends. She will be missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 23, 2015, at St. John's Catholic Church, Greeley, Kansas. Burial will follow in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Greeley. A rosary will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday evening at the St. John's Catholic Church, with visitation following.
