Alice Mullins

Alice Martha Wiederstein Mullins, formerly of LaHarpe, KS, entered into eternal rest early the morning of February 6, 2015, at Garden Valley Nursing Home in Kansas City, MO. Alice was born April 21, 1926, the daughter of Leo and Martha Wiederstein, in Hillsboro, KS. Alice married Clifford Sommerfeld in 1944 and they were the parents of two children, a son Dennis and a daughter Sandra. She later married William Mullins who predeceased her in 2006. She is survived by her children Dennis and wife Alice, of Kansas City, MO and Sandra and husband Allan Wilson, of Lenexa, KS; two grandchildren, Allyson and husband Richard Bowes of Florissant, MO, and Matthew and wife Christy Wilson of Kansas City, MO; and two great-grandsons, Henry and Jack Bowes, a brother Alfred Wiederstein of Shattuck, OK, a sister-in-law Ann Wiederstein of Newton, KS, and a host of nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers, Allen, Ed, and Hugo, and two sisters, Louise Funk and Ruby Yauk Moffitt. Alice's mortal body was donated to Kansas City University of BioScience for medical education. A memorial service will be held at King of Kings Lutheran Church, Kansas City, MO, at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 14. Memorials in memory of Alice may be given to Grace Hospice, 9233 Ward Parkway, Ste. 201, Kansas City, MO 64114. Committal will be at Cedarvale Cemetery in Neosho Falls, KS, at a later date.
