Alice B. Price, 83, of Iola, Kansas, died Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the Moran Manor. Alice was born January 16, 1928, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Howard and Jennie (Mullins) Whitney. The family moved to Iola and then to St. Louis, Missouri, when she was eleven. Alice married Herman Kirkpatrick in 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1944. She returned to Iola in 1950 and was married to Darrell Dudley. He died in 1963. On September 4, 1970, Alice married Warren Murphey and they made their home in LaHarpe. While living in LaHarpe, she sold Avon products. He died on October 2, 1987. She married Fred Price in 1991 and they lived in Billings, Montana. He died in 2002 and she returned to Iola. Alice was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliaries for over 35 years. SURVIVORS: Her Companion: John Heard of Iola, KS 1 Son: Bill Kirkpatrick & his wife, Bobbie of Billings, Montana 2 Grandchildren: Billy of Kansas City, KS and Shelly of Cherryvale, KS 2 Great Grandchildren & 5 Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Whitney, and a sister, Georgia Chapman. FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate.
