Alice M. Stansbury

Alice M. Stansbury, age 79, of Kincaid, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at her home.

Alice Marie Daugherty was born on February 15, 1944, in Kincaid, Kansas. She was the second of three children born to Warren J. Daugherty and Eunice (Caldwell) Daugherty. Alice graduated from Kincaid High School in 1962.

Alice was united in marriage to Bill Bruce on July 16, 1966. Their union was blessed with two children, Christine and Douglas. Bill preceded Alice in death in 1970. On July 4, 1971 in Kincaid, Kansas, Alice was united in marriage to Ellis Stansbury, Ellis brought his four children, Lonnie, Karen, Eric and Kristina to the marriage and then Ellis and Alice added Brian and Ginger to fill out their family of ten. Alice was a wonderful mother and made a loving home for the whole family. For most of her life Alice was a homemaker, in her later years she worked as a Para at the school in Kincaid. She loved her work at the school and hated when she was not able to continue working. She also took care of Martindale Villa Apartments, renting the units and tending to the management for many years. Alice was an active member of the Kincaid Selma Community Church, the Order of Eastern Star, and the VFW Auxiliary.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Bruce; son, Douglas Bruce in 1997; step son, Eric Stansbury in 2019; brother, John Daugherty in 2009; and sister, Martha Chandler in 2018.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ellis Stansbury, of the home; her children, Chris Bruce, Brian Stansbury, Ginger Stansbury, Lonnie Stansbury, Karen More and Kristina Stansbury; eighteen grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the Kincaid Selma Community Church in Kincaid, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Kincaid Selma Community Church. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.feuerbornfuneral.com .
