Annette C. Logan

d. September 14, 2015

Annette Coleen Croan (Powelson) Logan age 55 returned home to her heavenly father on September 14, 2015 in Garnett after a valiant battle of a long disease. She was devoted to her family, grandchildren and friends, who she loved and cared for with all her heart. If she was cooking and you were at her house you were made to stay to eat, or the 4"11' lady would be all over you like white on rice. Annette was born on August 20th, 1960 at Anderson County Hospital in Garnett, Kansas to Beverly (Croan) King. She grew up and went to school in Anderson County and was raised by her grandparents. She was a stay at home mother in the beginning of her children's lives. She then went to work caring for the elderly at LTC in Garnett, Arkhaven in Garnett, and Richmond Care, in Richmond Kansas; where she eventually wanted to try something new and went to work at Walmart in Ottawa as Sales Associates in Garden Center. She loved working there because she got to meet new people and see old friends and family. She loved reading Harlequin Romance books, she loved Christmas decorating and especially shopping for her children and grandchildren. At the holidays she would always have her house in top notch with dancing characters, flying wind socks, and an amazing Christmas tree. She met her first husband Steve Powelson in June 1979, when she was with her best friend (his sister) at his mother's house. They instantly hit it off and she flew out to Oregon where Steve was and got married the next month July 15, 1979. They lived there for a few months and then moved to Hillsboro, Kansas in 1980. In February of 1980, she had her first child Justin Scott Powelson then in April of 1980, they moved to Garnett, Kansas. They lived with her grandparents Ralph and Mae Cook, then in 1983, she had her second child, Lindsey Renee' Powelson then moved to Iola, Kansas in 1984. They lived there until 1985 when her third child, Chance Eugene Powelson, was born. Then in 1986, she moved back to Garnett with Lindsey and Chance and subsequently got divorced in March of 1986. Annette then met her second husband David Logan in 1987 and they got married July 12, 1987. Later that year she had her fourth child, Natasha Kendra Logan. They were married for three years and divorced the year of 1990. She then moved around the dam area in Ottawa where she lived for two years with her three children. She moved back to Garnett in 1992, with her three children moving in with her longtime companion Donnie Edgerton outside of Garnett, where she lived happily. There she battled her neurological disease for many years with her close family and friends by her side. Annette was preceded in death by her oldest son, Justin Scott Powelson; her (mom) Beverly Croan King; her grandparents, Ralph and Mae Cook; uncle, George Croan Sr. and cousin, George Croan Jr. She is survived by Donnie Edgerton of Garnett, oldest daughter, Lindsey Ruppel and her husband Kenneth of Garnett, Kansas; her son, Chance Powelson and his wife Epris of Missouri, and youngest daughter, Natasha Jones and her husband Anthony of Lawrence, Kansas; two brothers, Dewayne Martin of Iola; Michael King of Neodesha, Kansas; two sisters, Glenda Madison of Iola; Julie Hall of Uniontown; two aunts Nellane Laney Stussie and husband Gary of Lawrence Kansas; Irene Croan from Chanute Kansas; her pride and joy grandchildren, Kendra Dawn Bogatay, Natalee Joe Ruppel, Casen Rai Powelson, Emriss Ann Powelson, Arie Mae Olivia Jones, and Awesome Carter Jones; and many cousins, family, and friends from all over. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, September 18, 2015, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
