Xenia, Kansas - Archie W. Gregg, 74, passed away March 4, 2009 at his home. Archie William Gregg was born June 28, 1934 at Xenia, Kansas, the son of Archie and Alberta (Carter) Gregg. He attended Xenia Grade School before graduating from Bronson High School in 1952. Following high school he worked for the Bourbon County road crew before moving to St. Joseph, Missouri where he worked for Armour and Company. He was united in marriage to Catherine Jagodzinski at St. Joseph, Missouri on October 6, 1956. This union was blessed with two children. In 1957 he was drafted into the United States Army, serving until 1959 at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri. He then served in the National Guard until 1963. Following his time in the Army he returned to St. Joseph where he worked for Armour and Company for 16 years before returning to Xenia in 1971, where he farmed until his passing. Archie enjoyed coon hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Earl and Bob. Archie is survived by his wife, Catherine of the home, a son Deion Gregg and wife, Roxy, of Xenia, KS; a daughter, Theresa McGee and her husband Marion, of Blue Mound, KS; two grandsons, Nicholas Gregg and Nathaniel McGee; two granddaughters, Rebecca McGee and Shayla Gregg; two brothers, Clyde Gregg of Hutchinson, KS, and J.T. Gregg of Olathe, KS; three sisters, Hazel Woodward and husband, Luther, of Burke, Virginia, Venita Jagodzinski and husband, Louis, of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Donna Koenyke and husband, Bill, of Hutchinson, KS; sister-in-law, Shirley Gregg of Olathe, KS; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 9, 2009 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Moran, Kansas. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Mildred, Kansas. Mr. Gregg will lie in state after 11:00 AM, Sunday at the funeral home in Moran with the family present to greet friends from 4:00-6:00 PM.
