Arletta Lott

July 4, 1942 — September 25, 2024

Arletta Marie (Marquardt) Lott, age 82, passed away in Chanute, Kansas on September 25, 2024.

Arletta was born July 4, 1942, to Adolph and Josephine Marquardt in Prairie City, Missouri. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church and went to school from first grade through eighth grade at Zion Lutheran School, also in Prairie City. She then went to high school in Rich Hill, graduating with the class of 1960.

After high school, Arletta went to work for an insurance company in Kansas City until she was hired by the FBI. She met Kenneth "Kenny" Lott while working with the FBI and they decided to get married in July of 1961. Together, they moved to Minneapolis, Kansas, where they lived in a mobile home next to his grandparents while Kenny worked at the local missile base. Arletta and Kenny attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Salina, where Kenny took instructions, was baptized, and joined the Lutheran Church family.

Arletta's first child, Denise, was born in February 1962 and baptized at Trinity Lutheran. When Denise was one year old, Arletta and her family moved to Clay Center, where Kenny had a job with Leiszler Oil. Arletta went to work for Union State Bank during this time. The couple's second child, Troy, was born in March of 1964 and was baptized at the Lutheran Church in Clay Center. The family lived in that area until 1973, when they moved to Humboldt and purchased Bud's Tire Store. Denise and Troy went to school in Humboldt until their graduation. In the Fall of 1980, Arletta and Kenneth purchased a beautiful home in the country with 39.5 acres, pecan trees, and a pond. They lived at the country home until buying a home in the city of Humboldt in 2015. Arletta and husband Kenneth moved to Guest Home Estates II in Chanute, Kansas in the Summer of 2023, where she lived until her death.

Arletta was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Josephine Marquardt, and sister Venita Crow.

Arletta is survived by her husband of 63 years, Kenneth Lott, her children Denise Lott of Wichita, Kansas, Troy Lott and wife Tina of Humboldt, Kansas, plus grandchildren Dr. Jeremy Lott and wife Kaley of Gorham, Maine, Erin Welch and husband Charlie of Wichita, Kansas, and great-grandchildren Remi and Rawlins Welch.
