Arthur William Watson, 93, of Iola, Kansas, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola, Kansas. Arthur was born October 23, 1921, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of McKinley and Willie ( Lowe ) Martin. He married Geraldine Tease in 1940 and to this union, one son, Eugene O. Martin was born. He next married Tuddie Bell Howard and to this union, one daughter, Lillie Watson was born. Arthur worked at the Parsons Ammunition Plant and then in Arizona for a number of years before moving to Iola in 1947. In Iola he worked for the Lehigh Cement Plant, FEEM, and then Gates Rubber Company before retiring. Tuddie Bell preceded him in death on January 22, 1985. Arthur was also involved in the ministry and was a member of the Church of God in Christ in Chanute. SURVIVORS: 1 son: Eugene O. Martin (Gladys Bible-Martin) of Tulsa, Oklahoma 1 daughter: Lillie Davis of Iola 2 brothers: Albert Martin of Lancaster, California and Cornelius Martin of Minneapolis, Minnesota 1 sister: Cora Lancaster of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 5 grandchildren: Tinaro D. Williams, Tanara Martin, Tonya Martin-Glasco, Kimberley Martin and Eugene Martin, Jr. 4 great grandchildren: Trea De Onn Mitchel, Jaleel Eugene Martin, Bria N. Harvey, Aminika Glasco He was preceded in death by brothers, Julius (Bud), Aaron, and William B. Martin and a sister, Cassie Matthews. Cremation has taken place. MEMORIAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17th, 2015, at the Covenant of Faith Christian Center in Iola, Kansas.
