Audrey Irene (Plumlee) Clifton, 101, of Humboldt, Kansas, former longtime Rocky Comfort, Missouri resident, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Chanute HealthCare Center. Audrey was born January 16, 1912, in Rocky Comfort, the only child of Oscar Esmond and Bessie (Link) Plumlee. She grew up in Rocky Comfort and graduated from high school there. On February 20, 1930, Audrey married Roy Carl Clifton and they made their home in Rocky Comfort. In 2001, they moved to Humboldt to be near their daughter. He died May 3, 2003, after they celebrated 73 years together. She had been a member of the Bethlehem Methodist Church at Rocky Comfort. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and canning, reading, playing dominoes and doing word puzzles. SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Ava Marney of Humboldt, KS 1 Daughter-In-Law: Evelyn Clifton of Independence, MO 8 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by two sons, Harold and Kervyn Clifton and son-in-law, Dale Marney.
