Bernetta C. Bach, age 67, of Greeley, Kansas, passed away July 20, 2008, at Golden Heights Living Center, Garnett, Kansas. She was born on January 16, 1941, in Anderson County, Kansas, the daughter of Hubert and Agnes (Katzer) Lickteig. She was a graduate of the Greeley High School with the Class of 1959. Bernetta married Don Bach on February 13, 1960 at Lawrence, Kansas. This union was blessed with five children. She was a member of the Extension Homemakers Unit, Holy Angels Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Bernetta was a caregiver for many people throughout the community for many years. She was known to always go above and beyond the call of duty. Being Grandma was her greatest joy. Bernetta was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Agnes Lickteig; one brother, Norman Lickteig; an infant son, Thomas Bach on December 28, 1962; and her husband, Don Bach on August 8, 2007. She is survived by two sons, David Bach of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Gary Bach and wife Sandra of Topeka, Kansas; two daughters, Brenda Hermreck and husband Tony of Greeley, Kansas; Donna Dieker and husband Doug of Westphalia, Kansas; one brother, Leroy Lickteig and wife Ruth of Greeley, Kansas; three sisters, Lorene Giles and husband Al of Pottsboro, Texas; Leona Huettenmueller and husband Leo of Carrolton, Texas; Birdie Murray of Port Duncan-Afton, Oklahoma; and ten grandchildren, Hillary Bach, Lindsey Bach, Chris Blaufuss, Taylor Bach, Kim Hermreck, Eric Hermreck, Michael Hermreck, Bryce Dieker, Matt Dieker, and Kate Dieker. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Holy Angels Cemetery, Garnett. The family will greet friends following the rosary at 7:00 PM on Wednesday evening at Holy Angels Church at Garnett. Memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Heights Living Center.
