Bernice R. Barnaby

Bernice R. Barnaby, age 84, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at her residence in Garnett, Kansas. Bernice was born on August 19, 1923 in Garnett, Kansas, the daughter of Herman and Cecelia (Feuerborn) Sobba. She grew up in Garnett, attending the Spring Branch School. She was united in marriage to William Barnaby on June 15, 1946 in Garnett, Kansas. This union was blessed with four children. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Barnaby on April 3, 1993; her parents; three brothers, Gus Sobba, Gene Sobba and Jim Kueser; and one sister, Fern Sobba. She is survived by three sons, Alan Barnaby and wife Tammy of Atlanta, Georgia; Ron Barnaby and wife Cindy of Belton, Missouri; Ed Barnaby and wife Francie of Skiatook, Oklahoma; one daughter, Patty Huettenmueller and husband Paul of Garnett, Kansas; two brothers, Earl Sobba and Orville Sobba; and one sister, Louella Pontious; thirteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2008, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow at Holy Angels Cemetery in Garnett, Kansas. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2008, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. Family will greet friends following the rosary. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose School and sent in care of the funeral home.
