Bernice E. Kittle, age 82, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at St. Luke's Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri. Bernice was born on February 3, 1929, at Scipio, Kansas, the daughter of Edmund and Caroline (Katzer) Miller. She attended Garnett High School and graduated in 1948. While in high school, she worked at Dott's Caf in Garnett. In 1949, she moved to Homewood, Kansas with her parents. She was united in marriage to Dean Kittle on April 30, 1953, in Homewood, Kansas. This union was blessed with four children. Bernice worked at the sewing factory in Garnett and Ottawa before she was married. She raised her family and helped her husband on the farm after they were married, where she also tended her garden and raised chickens. She was a member of Holy Angels Church in Garnett. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents and Mildred Miller, her toddler sister. She is survived by her husband, Dean Kittle, of the home; two sons, Dennis Kittle of Garnett, Kansas; Don Kittle and Mary Ann Webb of Garnett, Kansas; two daughters, Norma Kittle of Garnett, Kansas; Mary Anne Satterthwaite and husband Scott of Topeka, Kansas; five sisters; Dorothy Reyer of Topeka, Kansas; Irma Finnegan and husband Emmett of Loveland, Colorado; Lorine Bloodworth of St. Cloud, Florida; JoAnn Miller of Topeka, Kansas; Mary Jean Ledom of Topeka, Kansas; two grandchildren, Lance Reed of Hays, Kansas; and Lisa Satterthwaite of Topeka, Kansas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the Holy Angels Cemetery, Garnett. The family will be present to greet friends following a Rosary at 7p.m., on Tuesday evening at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Rose School or Parkinson's Foundation.
