Beverly Jean Ward

Beverly Ward, age 83, of Colony, Kansas, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on September 29, 1940, to Wilson and Edna (Van Valkenburg) Woffard, in Kansas City, Kansas. Their family moved to Colorado when Beverly was six. Eventually they moved to Ft. Collins where she attended school and spent her youth. She went on to nursing school and graduated January 31, 1966, obtaining her LPN. In the early 80's the family moved to Kansas.

Beverly met the love of her life Charlie, who became her husband on October 16, 1987. They built a life together that created lots of love and memories. They became foster parents and provided love and care for over 155 foster children in their home. Many miles were traveled, many places were seen, many memories were made. "Done it all, seen it all, just can't remember it all."

Beverly is preceded in death by her daughter, Julie; daughter-in-law, Pam; her parents and brothers, Bill and Bob.

Beverly is survived by her husband of the home, Charlie; her sons, Randy and CJ; daughters, Elizabeth and Charlee; and numerous children and grandchildren by marriage; brother Don and his wife Joy, and sister Cheryl.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at High Point Cowboy Church in Colony, Kansas.
