Billy Stanford

Billy G. Stanford, 81, of Richmond, Kansas, died Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Colmery-O'Neil Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas. Billy was born October 29, 1927, at Concreto, Kansas, the son of William J. and Cleona B. (Adams) Stanford. He served in the U.S. Army. On May 15, 1954, Billy married Margie Sue Stone and they made their home at Moran. He worked 45 years for the Ensminger Grain Company. They lived in LaHarpe several years before moving to Richmond in 1997. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2000. Billy was a member of the Moran American Legion. SURVIVORS: 3 Sons: Billy Stanford, Jr. of Richmond, KS; Randy Stanford of Herrington, KS; and Russell Stanford of LaHarpe, KS 1 Daughter: Diana Fulton of Iola, KS 3 Brothers: Johnny Stanford of Newton, KS; Mike Stanford of Iola, KS; and Dale Stanford of Jasper, MO 6 Sisters: Cleta Ewing of Ottawa, KS; Lillian Franklin of Iola, KS; Dorothy Morrison of McCune, KS; JoAnn Smith of Clute, TX; Karen Tullo of Bella Vista, AR; and Deanie Duncan of Newton, KS 14 Grandchildren, Several Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild He was preceded in death by a son, Sammy Joe Stanford, and by one brother and two sisters. Cremation has taken place. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2009, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Inurnment will follow at the Lone Elm Cemetery. Chaplain Lloyd W.
