Bonnie M. Carriger, age 87, of Greeley, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at her home. She was born on February 26, 1925, in LaHarpe, Kansas, the youngest of thirteen children of William and Lillie Roush. Bonnie was united in marriage to Arthur Jackson Carriger on December 13, 1941, at Iola, Kansas. She and Arthur lived on a farm between LaHarpe and Moran, Kansas. In 1947, they moved to Colorado and farmed. Bonnie was a homemaker and went to work as a waitress until her retirement in 1997. After retirement, she moved back to Kansas to be near family. Bonnie was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary the Eagle Club, both of Colorado. She enjoyed gardening, canning, tending flowers, and crocheting rugs and bedspreads. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and anyone she met became a lifetime friend. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur Carriger in February 1968; twin sons, Melvin and David Carriger; son, LeRoy Carriger; and 12 brothers and sisters. Bonnie is survived by five sons, Ron D. Carriger of Greeley, Kansas; Jimmie C. Carriger of Denver, Colorado; Don R. Carriger of Osawatomie, Kansas; Thom L. Carriger of Canon City, Colorado; Arthur P. Carriger and wife Tamara of Canon City, Colorado; one daughter, Lillie Marie White of Corpus Christi, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and fourteen great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. Family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Garnett V.F.W. Post #6397.
