Bonnie Jean Rusk

Bonnie J. Rusk, age 77, of Welda, Kansas, died Monday, June 2, 2008, at the Allen County Hospital in Iola, Kansas. She was born on June 19, 1930, at Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Lloy E. Hawes and Dorothy Virginia (Tuttle) Hawes. Bonnie graduated from Argentine High School. Bonnie was united in marriage to William Gene Rusk on October 5, 1946, at Kansas City, Kansas. Four children were born to this union. The couple lived in Merriam, Kansas from 1959 until 1982 at which time they moved to the SKCCA in Welda. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, and First Christian Church. She enjoyed painting and crafts, and trips to the casinos. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill, in 1994; her son, William L. (Butch) Rusk in 2004; one grandson, Michael Rusk; and one granddaughter, Maureen Ann OShea. She is survived by one son, Larry Rusk and wife Paula of Gravois Mills, Missouri; two daughters, Susie Fuqua and husband Fred of Gravois Mills, Missouri; Lois Ann Rusk of Welda, Kansas; daughter-in-law Keri L. Rusk of Warrensburg, Missouri; sister Betty Mayden of Welda, Kansas; and two brothers, Robert Hawes of Kansas City, Kansas; and John Hawes and wife Sharon of Welda Kansas; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews and a host of friends she thought of as family. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas.
