Brandon Hobbs

September 16, 1973 — February 6, 2025

Brandon Hobbs, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, nephew, and friend to many, passed away tragically in a plane crash on Thursday, February 6, 2025, while serving as a Department of Defense contractor pilot in the Philippines. Born September 16, 1973, Brandon lived a life defined by service, courage, and a boundless love for both his family and his country.

From his earliest years, Brandon demonstrated an unwavering passion for two things that would shape his life's journey: baseball and military service. This calling to serve led him to join the United States Air Force, where he distinguished himself in Air Force Special Warfare as a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) specialist. His dedication to excellence and commitment to protecting others earned him the admiration and respect of all who served alongside him.

Following his military service, Brandon pursued his love of aviation, becoming a pilot and continuing to serve his nation as a Department of Defense contractor. His greatest joy was found in the freedom of the open skies, a passion that defined his professional life until its very end.

Brandon is survived by his loving wife, Pichayada Yaiduang; his children Madison, Gunner, Macee, and Jagger Hobbs; and his cherished grandchildren, with another grandchild on the way. He also leaves behind his father Rex Hobbs, Jr., and stepmother Suzanne Hobbs; his twin sister Brandee (Hobbs) Bratton and her husband Joe; sisters Lacey Penny and Jessie Alva; grandmother Billie Thompson; and aunts Diane Ransom, Kathy Roberts, and Heather Falconbridge; along with numerous cousins, who held him dear.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Holderman; great-grandmother Lydia Nettleton; grandfathers Alvin Knepp and Rex Hobbs Sr.; grandmother Barbara Whitaker-Falconbridge; and cousin Casey Cobbs.

Brandon's impact on those around him was profound and far-reaching. In the days following his passing, countless individuals have come forward to share stories of his inspiration, mentorship, and unwavering friendship. He was a hero not just in his professional achievements, but in the way he lived his life - with honor, integrity, and an infectious spirit that touched all who knew him.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Brandon will remember him for his dedication to service, his love of flight, his devotion to family, and his unyielding commitment to making the world a better place. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched during his remarkable journey.

Brandon Hobbs was more than a serviceman, pilot, father, and brother - he was a true American hero whose light will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who knew him. His spirit soars forever free in the skies he so dearly loved.
