Bruce Curry

Bruce E. Curry, 89, of Kincaid, Kansas, died Friday, January 22, 2010, at the Anderson County Hospital. Bruce was born October 15, 1920, in Kincaid, Kansas, the son of Bass and Grace (Mathis) Curry. He graduated from Kincaid High School and Friends University with a B.A. Degree in social science. Bruce was married to Joyce Davis and she and their daughter, Ruth, preceded him in death in 1951 as the result of an auto accident. On July 5, 1953, Bruce married Lila Bowen. He was a math and science teacher and taught in Nevada, Missouri, Blue Mound, Kansas and at Jayhawk-Linn. Besides teaching, he also farmed on the family farm. They have lived near Kincaid since 1964. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star. SURVIVORS: Wife: Lila Curry of the home 3 Daughters: Martha Beckham of Leavenworth, Kansas, Beverly Karen Curry and Barbara Connie Curry both of the home Nephew: Dennis Curry of Grand Junction, Colorado 2 Grandchildren: Stacey and Shaun 4 Great Grandchildren: Nadje, Quinn, Shaun, Jr. and Makiya He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Curry. FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at the Kincaid-Selma United Methodist Church. Pastor John Sheehan will officiate.
