Bruce Wayne Gibson, age 68, passed away on March 10, 2023 at KU Medical Center with family by his side.
Bruce was born on May 15, 1954 in Chanute, Kansas to Elmer Lee and Eleanor Maggie (Grogan) Gibson, the youngest of seven. Bruce attended school in Earlton and Chanute.
Bruce was united in marriage to Jane (Riebel) on February 14, 1992 in Miami, Oklahoma. This union brought the birth of their only son Trevor.
Bruce lived life to the fullest. Bruce had a passion for fishing, tinkering in the garage and spending time with his special four legged buddy, Hudson. Bruce and Jane loved to spend time antiquing together. Bruce and his family enjoyed their trips to the beaches collecting shells and making memories.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sharon Marie Dalton and Glenda Ann Clements and one brother Doyle Dean Gibson.
Bruce is survived by his wife Jane of 31 years of the home; his son Trevor of the home; sister Sue (Larry) Bailey of Chanute, Kansas; brothers, David (Connie) Gibson and Larry Gibson of Iola, Kansas; and numerous other family members.
Family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday March 16, 2023, at the Feuerborn Funeral Service Chapel, 1883 US HWY 54, Iola, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday March 17, 2023 at the Feuerborn Funeral Chapel, burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, Kansas.
Memorial contributions are suggested to ACARF and can be left in the care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Services, 1883 US HWY 54, Iola, Kansas 66749.
