Carol Ann Foltz, age 81, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022, at the Anderson County Hospital in Garnett.
Carol was born on July 15, 1941, at Emporia, Kansas, she was the first of three children born to Francis and Lucille (Sturgeon) Monnard. Carol grew up in Madison, and graduated from Gridley High School. Carol married Vernon Kaufman, two daughters, Deb and Melissa, were born to this union, they later divorced. Carol was united in marriage to Charles L. Foltz on August 22, 1969, at Emporia, Kansas. Three daughters, Stephanie, Angie, and Chris, were born to this union. They made their home in Garnett before moving to their farm east of Garnett in 1977. Carol began working as a secretary for Jackson Abstract Company and Gwinn Shell. In 1981 Carol became the owner of the abstract portion of the business. She later renamed the business, Anderson County Abstract. On July 1, 2012 Carol retired and sold her business.
Carol was an avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching KU basketball, the Kansas City Chiefs, K-State football, the Kansas City Royals (even when they weren't good), but those teams didn't hold a candle to the joy she got from watching any of her children and grandchildren's activities. In her retirement Carol appreciated and enjoyed planning her lawn, flower gardens, deck and pool area. Carol made many friends throughout the years of traveling to Kansas Corn Grower meetings. She enjoyed traveling, but she especially enjoyed trips to Colorado and Florida to visit her family.
Carol was an active member of Holy Angels Church and Altar Society, she was also a member of many local boards and organizations.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Robyn McSpadden.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie Foltz, of the home; five daughters, Deb McSpadden and husband, Dean, of Palm Harbor, Florida, Melissa Daggett and husband, Stephen, of Olathe, Kansas, Stephanie Moore and husband, Mike, of Falcon, Colorado, Angie Foltz and husband, Joe Kennedy, of Overland Park, Kansas, and Christin Weller of Paola, Kansas; and ten grandchildren, Jill McSpadden, Thomas McSpadden and wife, Rachel, Erin McSpadden, Elizabeth Daggett, William Moore, Finn and Lochlyn Kennedy, Tristan, Dylan, and Aidan Weller; two brothers, Richard Monnard of Norman, Oklahoma, and Gary Monnard and wife, Carol, of Davenport, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Holy Angels Cemetery. Carol's family will greet friends following a 6:00 PM Rosary on Monday evening at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose School and left in care of the funeral home.
