Carol Jean Higginbotham, age 65, of Iola, Kansas passed away Monday, January 6, 2020, at The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. Carol was born June 20, 1954, to Harry J Lee, Sr. and Violet (Raymer) Lee in Iola, Kansas.
Carol graduated from Iola High School in 1972. Carol was a stay at home mom and housewife. Carol was married to Bill Chapman in 1972, this union was blessed with five children. They later divorced. On April 20, 1996, Carol married Tom Higginbotham in La Harpe, Kansas.
Carol was an animal lover, collecting many animals over the years. She loved to crochet, work with ceramics in her shop and many other crafts. Carol and Tom enjoyed cruising around on their harleys through Allen County.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons William Chapman Jr. and Matheau Chapman.
Carol is survived by her husband Tom of the home; one son Jameson Chapman and fiancee Paula Scott of Chanute; two daughters Michelle Huston, Traci Stahl and husband Carl of La Harpe; nine grandchildren Ryan Chapman and wife Brandi, Zachery Culbertson, Ashton Culbertson, Eric and Kira Stahl, Trey and Maygan Huston, Jameson Chapman, Jr. William Chapman the third; four great-grandchildren Timberlyn, Ryler, Winston Chapman, and Brantley Culbertson; one brother Harry Lee and wife Joyce of La Harpe; and numerous other relatives.
A funeral service for Carol will be 10:30 am Monday, January 13, 2020, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola. Burial will follow in the La Harpe Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 3:00 - 5:00 pm Sunday, January 12, 2020, in the Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
