With her loving husband by her side, Carol June Scheuerman, age 70, passed away on November 26, 2020, at Stormont Vail Health Hospital in Topeka, Kansas, due to Covid-19 complications. Carol held a special place in so many hearts as she touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be missed by those that knew her and will be remembered by the way she loved wholeheartedly.
Carol was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on March 28, 1950, the first of six children, and the daughter of Kenneth Quinton and Virginia Lee (Dean) Webb. She graduated from Burlingame High School with the Class of 1968 and went on to receive an associate degree from Hutchinson Community College.
Carol was united in marriage to Michael Scheuerman on August 15, 1970, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Otis, Kansas and just this year they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. This union was blessed with three children, Jennifer, Erin and Ryan.
She was an active member in the church and her community during the years they resided in Otis, Kansas. Besides helping her husband farm, and being a loving mother, she worked for Fuller Brush in Great Bend, Kansas, the LaCrosse Furniture Factory and the Rush County Memorial Hospital both in LaCrosse, Kansas. Most of her years, she worked for the Otis-Bison School District in food service. After moving to Garnett, Kansas in 2006 to be close to her family, Carol worked for the Garnett School District as the Food Service Director.
When they retired, Carol and Mike moved to Oskaloosa, Kansas where she spent her time caring for children at a local daycare. She loved helping with the daycare children and taking care of them as if they were her own. Many of the children called her Grandma Carol which always made her smile. Carol was known all over the state for her homemade decorated cakes and her signature mints, a talent handed down from her mother Virginia Webb. For so many, and stretching across generations of families, she made birthday cakes, shower cakes, and anniversary cakes. She especially enjoyed helping brides to be plan their wedding cake and come up with a personalized design to make their day special. Carol’s family has many memories of her spending countless hours perfecting each cake for each special occasion.
Carol had many hobbies and interests that included different arts and crafts such as painting, crocheting, photography, and wood carving. Some of these she taught as a project leader for 4-H which she was involved in, both during her children’s lives, and her own childhood. Throughout her life she collected Precious Moments figurines and enjoyed traveling to Carthage, Missouri to tour the Precious Moments Chapel with her husband and children. In her younger years she enjoyed walking, playing softball, and bowling. She traveled to many craft shows, quilt shows, and garage sales with her friends, sisters, and parents who regularly participated in the craft shows themselves. Carol loved swimming with her grandkids and watching any sport on TV. She cheered on many different teams, but her favorite team was, of course, the KU Jayhawks. March Madness was her favorite time of year for sports and she would stay up late watching every single game she could watch.
Carol’s grandchildren made her world go round and they held an incredibly special place in her heart. She would light up whenever she saw them, and time seemed to stand still when she was with them. They brought her great joy and happiness, and they all miss their Grandma very much. Her children would tell you her love could be felt no matter where you were and that she knew how to find the beauty and joy in almost every situation. Carol’s laugh was contagious, and she always had a smile on her face and kindness and generosity in her heart. She was the most wonderful Mother, Wife, Grandma, Sister, Aunt and friend, and she will be greatly missed by all that were blessed to know her.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Virginia Webb; one brother, Jerry Webb; one sister, Janice Davidson; and one grandson, R.J. Rojas.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Scheuerman of Oskaloosa, Kansas, three children, Jennifer Rojas and Travis Scheck of Great Bend, Kansas, Erin George and husband Mike of Oskaloosa, Kansas, Ryan Scheuerman and wife Kelli of Tyndall, South Dakota, four grandchildren, Emma Rojas, Luke George, Coen and Adley Scheuerman, three sisters, Mary Ann Webb and Donald Kittle, Beverly Yoder and husband Vernon, and Joyce Trammel and husband Eric, all of Garnett, Kansas, one brother-in-law, Roger Burgess of Burlingame, Kansas; several beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family requests that you please wear a mask, follow social distancing requirements, and take care of and protect your loved ones.
