Carolyn Lee (Dudley) Stewart, age 76, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Life Care Center of Burlington, Kansas.
Carolyn was born December 14, 1944 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to Darrell and Verlin (Jackson) Dudley. She attended school in Moran, Kansas and graduated with the class of 1962. After high school, Carolyn began her working career as a seamstress working for H.L. Miller and Son. She held various jobs through out the years and she ended her career working as a cook for the USD 257 School District in Iola, Kansas. Carolyn married Larry Lloyd Stewart on September 15, 1962 in Moran, Kansas. Their union was blessed with two sons.
Carolyn loved to sew, quilt, and garden. She had a great love for hummingbirds. She would have done anything for her boys. Family was very important to Carolyn. She also loved to travel whenever she got the chance. She was an avid dog lover that would take in strays given the opportunity. While being known for being ornery, Carolyn will be greatly missed for her big heart and caring nature towards anyone who surrounded her.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Lloyd Stewart; and parents, Darrell and Verlin (Jackson) Dudley; and step-father, Orville “Snooks” Frame.
Carolyn is survived by two sons, Kenneth Stewart and wife, Valorie of Kincaid, Kansas and Kevin Stewart and wife, Terri of Moran, Kansas; three siblings, Richard Dudley and wife, Pat of Moran, Rita Hitchcock and significant other, Rodney Frye of Moran, and Barry Frame and significant other, Lorna Olson of Moran; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
A graveside service for Carolyn will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Bronson Cemetery in Bronson, Kansas. Family will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Iola, Kansas prior to the service.
