Cecelia Rose (King) Malloy, age 62, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at her home.
Cecelia was born July 26, 1957, to Edward and Elizabeth “Bessie” (Prescher) King. She attended school in Yates Center, Kansas, and graduated in 1975 from Yates Center High School. She went on to further her education at Allen Community College in Iola, Kansas.
Cecelia was known for her green thumb and love for reading. She had a great love for animals, especially her dog, Chico. On the weekends you could find her out on the town looking for garage sales to shop. She also loved to go fishing for crappie.
Cecelia is preceded in death by her father, Edward Joseph King.
Cecelia is survived by her mother, Bessie King; husband, Roy Malloy; son, Nick Poffenbarger and wife, Jody; daughter, Veronica Tomlinson and husband, Butch; granddaughter, Alexis Poffenbarger; grandsons, Devan Poffenbarger, Andy Poffenbarger, Tyler Tomlinson, Trevor Tomlinson; siblings, Delores Henderson and husband, Forrest, Joseph Edward King and wife, Roxanne, John F. King and wife, Martha, Lillian Meyers and husband, Jeff, David M. King and wife, Heather, Cynthia Coari and husband, Kenneth, and Mary C. Bode and husband, Larry; and numerous other family members and friends.
A visitation in honor of Cecelia will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020, in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, at St. John Catholic Church, 310 South Jefferson, Iola. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. John Cemetery, Gas, Kansas.
Memorials in honor of Cecelia are suggested to the Cecelia Malloy Memorial Fund, and may be left with the funeral home.
