Charlene C. Clark, 95, former resident of Iola, Kansas, died Friday, June 25, 2010, at Lake Point Nursing Center in El Dorado, Kansas. Charlene was born November 24, 1914, in Warrensburg, Missouri the daughter of Charles N. and Mary E. (Greer) Saling. She grew up on a farm near Denton, Missouri. At the age of fourteen, she moved to Kansas City with her family. They returned to the farm and on December 19, 1935 she married Harley O. Clark. They made their home on a farm north of Iola before moving to Iola in 1951. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1991. Charlene was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Iola. She enjoyed her church, being with her family, cooking and fishing. SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Nelson Clark of El Dorado, KS 2 Daughters: Rosalee Nelson and husband, Bob of El Dorado, KS and Beth Gatlin and husband, Wally of Nowata, OK 1 Brother: George Saling of Holden, MO 14 Grandchildren & several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by a son, Harly O. "Lonnie" Clark, Jr., a brother and three sisters. FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Iola. The Rev. Gene McIntosh will officiate.
