Charlene Elizabeth Turner, age 72, of Welda, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at St. Luke's North Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.
She was born July 14, 1949, in Colony, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Jr. and Alta Betty (Christy) Turner. Charlene graduated from Welda High School with the Class of 1967.
"My mom was my mom and dad growing up." She worked nights at the Rocky Roost in Welda as a waitress.
She loved working on jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, enjoyed the Kansas City Chiefs and her favorite TV show was Blue Bloods. In school, she liked to beat up the boys.
Charlene loved her two grandsons very much. Linda Skinner and Dixie Scobee were two of her best friends.
Charlene is survived by her daughter, Dawn Hatfield; two grandsons, Tyler and Tucker Jones; one sister, Sandra Noyes, all of Welda, Kansas; one brother, Charles Ray Turner of Iola, Kansas; and one niece, Carla Turner, of Ottawa, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 20, 2021, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas.
Charlene's family will greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Autism Speaks or American Diabetes Association and left in care of the funeral home.
