Charles M. Burton, Jr., age 54, of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away at his residence on December 10, 2020. JR was born September 12, 1966, in Iola, Kansas, to Charles Burton, Sr. and Ethylene (Watson) Stephens.
JR graduated from Garden City High School in 1985 and then attended Pittsburg State University. JR attended United States Army basic training. He worked as a truck driver and also in several factories in Emporia and Pittsburg.
JR loved bowling! He also enjoyed working on cars, fishing, and woodworking. JR liked watching old western movies, especially John Wayne. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan.
JR was preceded in death by his father.
JR is survived by his son, Brandon Burton, Pittsburg, Kansas; daughter, Hailey Burton, Pittsburg, Kansas; mother, Ethylene Stephens, Emporia, Kansas; one brother, John Burton, Emporia, Kansas, one sister, Betty Sigsbee, Crawfordville, Florida; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside memorial service with inurnment will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020, in Highland Cemetery, 1800 North Cottonwood, Iola, Kansas.
