Charles A. "Chuck" Gregg, 93, of Gas, Kansas died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the home of his daughter in LaHarpe, Kansas. He was born January 26, 1917, in Gas the son of John Riley and Asintha Jane (Brooks) Gregg. He graduated from Colony High School in 1936. He then worked for the Kerr McFall Garment Company in Iola before serving in the United States Army during World War II. After his military duty, Charles returned to Iola and worked at Cook's Drug Store and then The Iola Register. On May 31, 1947, he married Iola Culbertson and they made their home in Iola before moving to Gas in 1949. He retired after working thirty-three years at The Register. His wife preceded him in death on August 25, 2004. SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Kirby Gregg & wife, Debi of Iola, KS 1 Daughter: Penny Ebert & husband, Phil of LaHarpe, KS 4 Grandchildren: Gabe Gregg and Kim Gregg both of Iola, KS, Brian Ebert of Newton, KS and Asinthia Marshall of Kansas City 10 Great Grandchildren & 1 Great Great Grandchild He was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Ed, Theron, Riley, Alfred and Paul and by 2 sisters, Lottie and Mammie. FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. The Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate.
