Charlie Jim McEndree, age 64, of rural Elsmore, Kansas passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at his home.
He was born on January 16, 1955 in Iola, Kansas. Charlie was the third of four children born to Elmer and Ruth (Jackson) McEndree. He grew up on the family farm south of LaHarpe and graduated from Iola High School in 1974. He married Melodee Kay Lyons in Miami, Oklahoma in November of 1989. They made their home in rural Elsmore, where they had two daughters. He lived in rural Elsmore throughout his remaining years as a cattleman, where he enjoyed his freedom on the farm. Charlie was also an excellent redneck mechanic, in addition to working in the local oil fields and at B & W in Humboldt. You could usually find him fishing at Elsmore Lake with friends. Charlie loved playing cards, dancing, and his dogs.
Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Melodee on September 2, 2017; step-daughter, Mandy Cowan; mother, Ruth McEndree; brother, Chet McEndree; and an infant brother, Tommy Bill McEndree.
He is survived by his two daughters, Katie Stipp and husband, Cody of Thayer, Kansas, Jamee McEndree of Elsmore, Kansas; step daughter, Amy Heinz and husband, Jacob of Katy, Texas; two grandchildren, Willow and Tucker Stipp; two step-grandchildren, Ivy and Piper Heinz; father, Elmer McEndree of Moran, Kansas; sister, Nancy McEndree of LaHarpe; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 PM in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola, Kansas. Contributions in his memory are suggested to ACARF and may be left with the funeral home. Condolences for the family can be left at
