Charlotte Arvada (Lammon) Swift, age 86, of Colony, Kansas, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Parkview Heights, Garnett, Kansas. She was born in Hartman, Colorado on January 29, 1932, to Jay Lammon and Ora Dill Lammon. She met the love of her life while still in high school, and married Robert Elmer "Bob" Swift on April 15, 1950, in Vinita, OK. They made their home in Colony, Kansas, in 1953. Charlotte worked for Gates Rubber Company as a braider operator for 25 years, retiring in 1992. In her spare time she loved gardening, planting flowers, and cooking for her family. Charlotte is survived by her two sons, Dale Swift, Colony; Jack (Rosslyn) Swift, Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Tim Hoffman, Tracy Garrett, Stephanie Plaschka, Brett Swift, Jessica Kinnett, Brian Meyerholtz, David Meyerholtz, John Meyerholtz, and Matthew Talmadge, twenty-one great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on July 10, 2017; a daughter, Diana Meyerholtz; her brother, Lawrence Lammon; her two sisters, Betty Powers and Nancy Lammon. Services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the Colony Community Church in Colony, Kansas. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. and the funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place in the Colony Cemetery.
