Chester Franklin “Chet” Williams Jr., age 55, of Iola, Kansas, passed away November 27, 2018 at Kindred Hospital, Houston, Texas. Chet was born November 8, 1963, at Iola, Kansas, to Chester Franklin Williams, Sr. and Patricia Marie (Miller) Williams. Chet grew up in Iola, where he attended school. Chet graduated from the Iola High School in 1982. He moved to St. Joseph, Missouri in the early 1990’s where he raised his family. Chet worked at Sealed Air in Saint Joseph, where he was a supervisor. He was also a basketball and football coach, and an umpire for men’s basketball and youth football. Chet owned and operated his own DJ business called C4 Productions. Chet was an avid sports fan, especially the Chiefs, Royals and the Jayhawks. He was gifted with a sense of finding money that amazed his family on many occasions. Chet shared a special bond with his brother, Shan, spending countless hours together throughout their lives. He also loved to spend time with his friends and family, he was particularly close to his cousins. Chet was preceded in death by his father. Chet is survived by his mother, Patricia, of Iola; two sons, Marcus Williams, Wichita, Kansas, Derrick Williams, Saint Joseph, Missouri; one daughter, Tanisha Williams, Saint Joseph, Missouri; one brother, Shan Williams, Chanute, Kansas; one sister, Yolanda Samuel and husband, Peda, of Simpsonville, South Carolina; two adopted sisters, Zareona Pulley and LaPrincia Pulley, both of Iola, Kansas; one adopted brother, Taurus Pulley, Iola, Kansas; two step-brothers, Eric Pulley of Wichita, Kansas, Armand C. “Peppy” Pulley of Chanute, Kansas; three grandchildren; and numerous other relatives. Chet was also a father-figure to Janece Roach. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Emery Lee, Chet’s cousin, who was like a brother; and to Shan Williams Jr., Chet’s favorite nephew. Their kindness will not be forgotten. A funeral service in honor of Chet’s life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Iola, Kansas. Inurnment in Highland Cemetery, Iola will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Chester Franklin Williams, Jr. Memorial Fund.
