Christina L. Culbertson

Christina Lee Culbertson, age 75, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, Kansas.

Christina was born on March 3, 1948. She grew up in Presho, South Dakota, where she was raised by her Aunt Elsie Greenwood Mang and Uncle Gus Mang until she was 13 years old. In 1961, she then moved with her mother, Phoebe, and stepfather, Ed Paul, to Colony, Kansas, where she attended Colony High School. Christina worked at Thompson Poultry Plant and Nursing homes in Iola, Kansas following high school. In 1965, Christina met Bill Culbertson, who was just out of the service. They were married on July 2nd 1966, and were blessed to be able to celebrate 57 years of marriage. Christina enjoyed raising her eight children, her younger sisters and loving on several nieces and nephews. She loved her family and was proud of her 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Christina was preceded in death by her son, Billy Jr., mother, Phoebe Paul-Mott, step father, Edward Paul, and one sister, Denise Paul.

Survivors include husband Bill Culbertson, four daughters, Eugenia (Noel) Royer, Sharon (Nelven) Smith, Susanna (Mike) Estudillo, and Deborah and partner (Jareus Smith); three sons, Eric, Aaron (Maria), and Andrew (Rebecca); grandchildren, Michael, Christian, Mariah and partner (Nick Adkins), Magdalene, Martina, DyShara and fiance (Brett Swogger), Billy, Austin, Elijah and fiance (Vesta Brewer), Emma, Isabella,Abby, Joaquin and Elyssa,; great grandchildren, Christina, and Roman; and four siblings, Lonnie Greenwood, Elsie Paul, and Bonnie Paul, Mary Matuska.

Christina spent her life serving God and loving others. She wanted to be a living example of Ephesians 4:32 - Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ Jesus forgave you.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery, Richmond, Kansas. Christina's family will greet friends from 5:00PM - 7:00PM on Friday evening at the funeral home.
