Christopher Alan Martin, age 52, of Iola, Kansas, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Allen County Regional Hospital, Iola, Kansas. Chris was born December 14, 1966 to William "Bill" Martin and Mary (Bishop) Martin in Quincy, Illinois. On September 19, 2003 Chris married Tina Durbin in Coffeyville, Kansas. He received his GED from Allen Community College. Chris worked as a truck driver for Hammerson Ready Mix, Gas, Kansas. Chris was an avid Alabama fan cheering "Roll Tide" for every game. He never met a stranger and was known to be a great conversationalist. He enjoyed collecting Jack Daniels and Alabama memorabilia, and going to many garage sales and flea markets. Chris' specialty was making red hot and cinnabon popcorn for the holidays. He loved his family very much and made an annual trip every Fourth of July, to Tennessee to see his family. Chris was an anchor for his kids, always being there for whatever they may have needed. He was truly the father he didn't have to be and a wonderful Papa to all of his grandchildren. And to his wife, he was her everything. " The Man" will be forever loved and not forgotten. Chris was preceded in death by his sister Charlotte Cody and one niece Mackenzie. Chris is survived by his wife, Tina, of the home; his parents, Bill and Mary Martin, Gainesboro, Tennessee; four daughters, Jamie Sosaya and husband Dan, Chesapeake, Virginia, Tiffany Jamis and husband Randy, Fredonia, Kansas, Ashley Ellis, Fredonia, Kansas, Kimberly Ellis, Iola, Kansas; one son, Trustin Ellis and wife Angella, Parsons, Kansas; two brothers, Jim Martin and wife Caramel, Haleyville, Alabama, Mark Martin and wife Carrie, Tennessee; one sister, Angela Hardesty and husband Richard, Tennessee; fourteen grandchildren, eleven nieces and nephews; numerous other relatives. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018, in The Venue at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 Hwy 54, Iola, Kansas.
