Clovis "Wes" Bell

Clovis "Wes" Bell, age 91, of Derby, Kansas passed away on April 1, 2023 at the hospital in Derby.

Wes was born in Garnett, Kansas on September 28, 1931. He was the sixth of six children born to Clovis Bell and Bernice (Camp) Bell. He graduated from Garnett High School with the class of 1949. Wes then entered the US Navy from 1951 to 1955, serving in Korea. Following his discharge from the Navy, Wes lived in Wichita, Kansas, where he began working for Boeing. On August 30, 1958, Wes was united in marriage to Donna (Maness) Hamilton, they had one daughter, Dana. He worked in the aircraft related industry throughout his career. At the time of his retirement he was working as a quality control manager for Boeing in Wichita. His work took Wes to many places throughout the US and in Europe. After retiring, he returned to Garnett, where he purchased his parent's farm. Following the death of Donna in 2011, Wes married Suzanne Downing. They made their home in Mulvane, Kansas, moving to Derby in 2018.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovis and Bernice Bell; wife, Donna; daughter, Dana; three brothers, John, Howard and Fred Bell; and two sisters, Eva Braille and Edna Collins.

Wes is survived by his wife, Suzanne, of the home; granddaughter, Tiffany Bell of Douglass, Kansas; Suzanne's children, Michael and Nikki Downing of Eldorado, Kansas, Joie and Michael Graham of Tuscon, Arizona, many grand and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including, Tim and Clayton Collins of Garnett, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Garnett with Pastor Vernon Yoder officiating. Burial will follow in the Garnett Cemetery.
