Conrad B. "Coonie" Hermreck, age 79, of Richmond, Kansas, died on Friday, September 18, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital on the Plaza. He was born April 24, 1930, in Richmond, Kansas, the son of Christopher P. and Elizabeth P. (Pickert) Hermreck. He grew up in the Richmond area and he attended the West Scipio School. Farming was his lifetime occupation and hobby. Coonie began milking cows when he was a young boy and continued for the next 60 years. He also drove the bus for a few years while his children were young. Conrad married Ann Wolken on March 31, 1951 at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Scipio, Kansas, this union was blessed with six children. He was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church. Coonie loved to go dancing, attend auctions and the local fairs, but his greatest joy was his family and grandchildren. Conrad was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Elizabeth Hermreck; one sister, LaVerne Griner; three brothers, Mike Hermreck; Don Hermreck; Earl Hermreck; and an infant grandson, Aaron Michael Henry. Conrad is survived by his wife Ann Hermreck of the home; three sons, Terry Hermreck and wife Laura of Scipio, Kansas; Larry Hermreck of Richmond, Kansas; Jerry Hermreck and wife Ramona of Richmond, Kansas; three daughters, Marilyn Cook and husband Robert of Osawatomie, Kansas; Sharon Weimer and husband Randy of Garnett, Kansas; Cindy Henry and husband Mike of Olathe, Kansas; two sisters, Eileen Miller of Garnett, Kansas; Wilma D. Meier of Nipomo, California; Fourteen grandchildren - six granddaughters, Heather Henry, Holly Henry, Aleisha Weimer, Chelsei Weimer, Carolyn Hermreck, Lauren Hermreck; eight grandsons, Seth Hermreck, Zeke Hermreck, Josh Hermreck, Andy Cook, Kevin Cook, Chris Cook, D.J. Hermreck, Jeremy Moore; and Two great grandchildren, Abby and Colin Cook. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Scipio, with burial to follow at the St. Boniface Cemetery. A rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 with the family present to greet friends following at the church.
