Dale "Leadfoot" McVey

Dale Eugene "Leadfoot" McVey, age 87, of Moran, Kansas, passed away January 12, 2022, at Moran Manor, Moran, Kansas. Dale was born September 26, 1934, in LaHarpe, Kansas, to Clarence E. McVey and Pauline A. (Davis) McVey.

Dale attended school in LaHarpe, Kansas. He and Glennis Schaeffer were married in 1953 and they had four children. They later divorced. Dale and Zella Briggs were married January 21, 1975, in Iola, Kansas.

Dale worked most of his life as a truck driver.

Dale liked truck driving and working on his trucks. He and Zella enjoyed dancing, especially country and western music. He liked bowling and in later years going to the casino. Dale had a great sense of humor and enjoyed joking around.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Zella; his parents; son, Ricky Lee McVey; daughters, Jill Elaine McVey, Terri Walker; three brothers; and one sister.

Dale is survived by daughters, Pam Asbel, Spring Hill, Florida, Terry Behrens, Black Canyon City, Arizona; sons, Duke Miller, Kincaid, Kansas, Ricky Miller, Moran, Kansas, Joe Petrosius, Visalia, California; and numerous other relatives and friends.

UPDATE:
Due To Severe Cold Weather, the visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 21, 2022, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola, Kansas.

A graveside service will be at 10:45 a.m. in the LaHarpe Cemetery, LaHarpe, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the Wings of Warriors, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola, Kansas.
