Dale Swift, age 60, of Colony, Kansas passed away on August 4, 2019, at the University Of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas.
Dale was born in Iola, Kansas on August 1, 1959. He was the third of three children born to Robert Elmer Swift and Charlotte Arvada (Lammon) Swift. He grew up in Colony attending school there, he graduated from Iola High School with the class of 1977. Dale then attended Pittsburg State University where he completed the welding certification program in 1979. In 1980, he took a job in Atchison, Kansas working for William Natural Gas Services as a welder. Dale married Jackie Crawford, they were blessed with one son, Brett. They later divorced. Dale later married Siobhan McGuire, they were blessed with one daughter, Jessica, before they divorced. Dale returned to Colony in 1993, working at the Welda station. He worked for Williams, later Southern Star throughout his career, retiring in 2011. When he was not working, he enjoyed working on the family farm with his father. Dale enjoyed the outdoors, especially spending time with his children fishing or shooting.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Diana Meyerholtz.
Dale is survived by his son, Brett Swift and Lindsay Wiseman of Meriden, Kansas; daughter, Jessica Kinnett and husband, Perry of Burlingame, Kansas; three grandchildren, Sophia and Thomas Kinnett and Bristol Wiseman; and his brother, Jack Swift and wife, Rosslyn of Kansas City, Missouri.
Services for Dale will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at 10:30 AM at Colony Community Church with Pastor Steve Bubna officiating. Burial will follow in the Colony Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until the start of the service on Saturday. Memorial contributions in Dale’s memory may be given to the Colony Community Church. Condolences may be left at
