Dr. Dan Woods Proctor, age 81, died Sunday, October 5, 2014, at his home. Born on January 16, 1933 in Los Angeles CA, he was the son of the late Merle L. and Agnes Woods Proctor. Dan received a Bachelor of Arts from Howard-Payne in Brownwood, TX and a Bachelor of Divinity and his Ph. D. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in TX. Dan taught at North Greenville Junior College in Tigerville SC and at Gardner-Webb University.He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Exchange Club and served previously on the board of the Boys and Girls Club. He was a loving father and grandfather, and was the devoted caretaker of his wife of 59 years. In addition to his parents, Dan is preceded in death by a daughter, Dr. Mary Hendrix and a sister, Donna Rae. Dan is survived by his wife, Dr. Launita "Lonnie" Proctor; two sons, Dr. Stephen Proctor and wife Dr. Rita Smith of Concord and Daniel Proctor and wife Kim of Shelby; a daughter, Rebecca Greene and husband Colonel John Greene of Milford PA; a brother, Darrel Proctor and wife Carol of Panama City Beach FL; a son-in-law, Chris Hendrix of Mocksville; seven grandchildren, Eric Proctor and wife Hannah, Margaret Hendrix Foster and husband Derrick, Rebecca Hendrix, William Greene and wife Valerie, Zachary Proctor, Autumn Proctor, and Andrew Greene; and a great granddaughter, Mary Hannah Proctor. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at the Wellsville Cemetery in Wellsville, Kansas. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.feuerbornfuneral.com
