Daniel M. Arbuckle, age 82, of Moran, Kansas passed away on March 11, 2012 at the Allen County Hospital, Iola, Kansas. Dan was born on March 11, 1930 at Iola, Kansas the son of Stuart V. and Inez M. (Jackson) Arbuckle. Dan grew up in the Iola area graduating from the Iola High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On January 30, 1954 Dan married Wanda Jo Skinner at Tunica, Mississippi. This union was blessed with four children. She preceded him in death on August 2, 1989. Following his time in the service Dan returned to the Iola area before living in Chicago and California returning to Kansas in 1964. Dan worked in the area oilfields, working for Tech American Resources for over twenty years and then for himself as an independent contractor to area producers. Dan enjoyed woodworking, building clocks and knick knacks for his family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Peggy Gath on October 5, 2009; one sister, Donna Kay Womelsdorf; and an infant brother, L.D. He is survived by his companion Marjorie Klimek of the home and his three sons and their families, Bob and wife Marilyn of Colony, Danny and wife Arlene and Kenny and wife Sandy all of Iola; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Moran. Burial will follow in the Moran Cemetery. Dan will lie in state on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home in Moran. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
