Daniel Ray "Dan" Ware, Sr. died Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at his home in Iola, Kansas, surrounded by the love of his family. Dan was born on March, 12, 1951, in Wichita, Kansas, the eldest son of Eleanor Mae Ware. He grew up in the Iola area where he attended schools. After high school Dan began a career in the construction business. He worked for Beachner Construction where he became a foreman in a year and a half. After working for Jack Sebbert, he was employed by Autrey Construction as a foreman and superintendent. Dan then worked with Kendall Call before spending six years with Royal Construction out of Missouri. In 1993, Dan and his son Danny Ray started Superior Builders here in Iola which continues to be run by Danny Ray. SURVIVORS: WIFE: Janet Ann Ware of the home SON: Danny Ray and his wife Jenni of LaHarpe DAUGHTER: Sarah Ann Berkenmeier and fiancé Marc Collier of Humboldt 2 BROTHERS: Terry Hulett and wife Suzan of New Holland, New York, and Tony Hulett, and fiancé Shelly Crane of Iola 5 GRANDCHILDREN: Emily Ware of Lawrence, Danielle Ware and Daniel Ray Ware III of LaHarpe, and Brooke and Bailee Berkenmeier of Humboldt Numerous friends Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry L. and Sarah Ann Ware, Mother and stepfather, Eleanor Ware and Donald Marler, a brother, Ricky Dale Hullett in 1957 of S.I.D.S., and a daughter Phyllis Ann Buckman VISITATION: 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2015, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel. Cremation will follow the visitation. GRAVESIDE INURNMENT SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Highland Cemetery in Iola.
