Darrell A. "Rick" Rickabaugh, age 74, of Greeley, Kansas, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010, at his home. Rick was born on June 30, 1935, at Redding, Kansas, the son of Joe Arch and Josephine P. (Blum) Rickabaugh. He graduated from Greeley High School in 1951. Rick served in the U.S. Army from April 1958 to March 1960. He was united in marriage to Mary Landwehr at St. Johns Church in Greeley, Kansas on July 16, 1957. This union was blessed with four children. Rick enjoyed a 43 year career with the Garnett Church Furniture Factory. Following high school Rick began working with the installation crew then as a salesman. His travels with work took him all over the country and included work for the Pope's visit to Detroit in 1987 and furnishing one of the country's largest churches in Lakeland, Florida. In addition to his job he loved his family farm. He raised Angus cattle. Rick was very active in his children's 4-H and FFA activities. He served many years on the Anderson County Fair Board. He was founding member of the Anderson County Trout Association and was a member of the Elks club. Rick loved quail hunting and bass fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Josephine Rickabaugh; and two sisters, Marjorie Harris and Alma "Sandy" Freeman. Rick is survived by his wife, Mary Rickabaugh of the home; three sons, Joe Rickabaugh and wife Tracey of Topeka, Kansas; Paul Rickabaugh and wife Andra of Wilmore, Kansas; Mark Rickabaugh of Greeley, Kansas; one daughter, Mary Beth Rockers and husband Russell of Garnett, Kansas; seven grandchildren; Drew, Chelsey and Cole; Jack and Jordan; Madison and Oren Rickabaugh; and extended family Terry and Tammy Egidy and their children, Morgan and Mattheu. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2010, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scipio, Kansas. Inurnment will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery in Scipio. The family will greet friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas.
