He was born July 2, 1956 in Garnett, Kansas, the oldest child of Floyd and Louann (Landwehr) Hermreck. Dave attended school at St. John's in Greeley where he received strict instructions on how to lector from Sister Christina. He graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1974. Dave married Nancy Mader on September 12, 1981 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Scipio. This union was blessed with four children; Derek, Candace, Amanda and Sennett. They made their home in rural Anderson County where he enjoyed the outdoors and raising livestock. Dave worked construction before working for Anderson County and then Coffey County as the Noxious Weed Director for many years. He then worked for Wal-Mart Distribution until his retirement in 2015. He was a Certified Bow Hunter's Instructor for 20 years. He received the Buffalo Award, a special award voted on by his fellow instructors given annually. He took great pride and pleasure as a lector for many weddings and funerals. He loved to hunt, fish, and especially enjoyed planting gardens with and for his grandchildren.
