Dennis J. Shepard

Dennis J. Shepard, age 62, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Richmond Healthcare in Richmond, Kansas. He was born on February 1, 1951, at Elmira, New York, the son of Elwin and Blanche (Harker) Shepard. Dennis graduated from high school in Spencer, New York. Dennis was an over the road truck driver for 29 years. He lived in Asheville, North Carolina for many years before moving to Sutton, Nebraska and then to Garnett in 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwin and Blanche Shepard; and his sister, Joy Mitzel. Dennis is survived by two sons, Dennis James Shepard Jr. of JBER, Alaska; Treman Shepard and wife Sarah of Binghamton, New York; two daughters, Christina Glover of Binghamton, New York; Tammy Shepard and William of Binghamton, New York; brother, Gary Shepard and wife Virginia of Garnett; eight grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews.
