Donald DVM

Dr. Donald Hunziger passed away at his home in Humboldt, KS on June 29, 2015. He and his wife had recently moved to Humboldt from Oregon, MO. Donald Howard Hunziger was born to John and Doris (Burrier) Hunziger on Jan. 7, 1942 at Oregon, MO. He graduated from the Oregon High School in 1960. He attended and graduated from the University of Missouri in 1964 with a BS in Agriculture. From 1964-1966 he served in the U.S. Army stationed in El Paso, TX. In 1971, he graduated from the University of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced from 1971 until March 2015. Doc was a member of the Forest City, MO and Fillmore, MO Lodges. He was also a member of the Oregon American Legion Post 190. His hobby was being "the pit crew" for his son Mark on the Nobdyracing car. He is survived by Annamarie (Smith), his wife of 48 years. Two sons: Mark and Becky Hunziger, Humboldt, KS and Jerry and Femie Hunziger, Tulare, CA. Two sisters: Sandra (Calvin) Hunziger Smith and Ellen (Joe) Hunziger Stinziano. The funeral will be a graveside service at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Oregon, MO, at a later date. Cremation was under the direction of Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel, Iola.
