Donald Jackson Perkins

Donald Jackson Perkins, age 67, of Garnett passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. Donald was born on December 11, 1942, the son of Donald Eugene and Julia Mae (Fisher) Perkins. He grew up in Garnett, graduating from the Garnett High School. Following school he lived in Topeka for a few years before moving to Lawrence. He worked for Hallmark Cards in Lawrence for 25 years. Following his retirement he returned to Garnett. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a devoted son and his family was important to him. He loved going to the Grand Lake with his sister and brother-in-law. He was an avid collector of Avon perfume bottles. Donald was preceded in death by one nephew, Brian Katzer. He is survived by his mother, Julia Kipper of Garnett, Kansas; one sister, Linda Katzer and husband Virgil of Garnett, Kansas; two nephews, Ron Katzer and Kurt Katzer; one niece, Farrah Katzer; great nieces and nephews, Brandon Katzer, Blaine Katzer, Lakin Katzer, Reece Katzer and Paige Rupp. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Garnett. Interment will follow in the Garnett Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 7:00 PM, Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
