Donald Stanley

Donald Earl "Don" Stanley, 73, of Elsmore, Kansas, died Thursday, November 11, 2010. Don was born February 26, 1937, at Elsmore, Kansas, the son of Earl and Blanche (Cox) Stanley. He was born and died a resident of Elsmore, Kansas and was a fifth generation Allen Countian. He served in the United States Army. Don was a loving father and grandfather. He was a friend to all he met and served his community. He will be missed. SURVIVORS: Daughter: Brenda Ludlum & husband, Pete of Naples, Florida Brother: Gary Stanley & wife, Sharon of Aiken, South Carolina Sister: Barbara Rees of Stanton, Texas Grandchildren: Brooke, Kayla, Shelby, Josh and John Great Granddaughter: Summer Rose He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Blanche Stanley, and his daughter, Leslie Ellen Stanley Norman. Cremation has taken place. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 12:30 p.m., Sunday, May 29, 2011, at the Elsmore Cemetery with military honors. Rev. Connie Cox will officiate. Friends and family are invited to the Cox house at 502 N. Main in Elsmore following the service for a time of fellowship. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
