Donna Lee Powell

Donna L. Powell, age 71, of Iola, Kansas passed away Wednesday March 6, 2019, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Donna was born May 11, 1947 in Hammond, Indiana to Donald E. and Doris R. (Rusher) Riley. Donna graduated from Hammond High School in 1965. On October 3, 1977, she married Thomas I. Powell in Iola, Kansas. Donna worked for Kretzmeir, McCammon, and St. Clair as a bookkeeper until her retirement. Several years after retirement she worked for John E. Wood Appraisal as a secretary. Donna was a kind, caring person and would do anything she could for someone. She loved spending time with her family. One of her greatest joys was family get togethers. Donna was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother Donald Riley. Donna is survived by one sister Phyllis Wood and husband John, Iola, Kansas; four nieces Tiffany Henry, Topeka, Kansas, Heather Strisko, Highland, Indiana, Vanessa and Magen Riley, Iola, Kansas; one nephew Donald "Chris" Strisko, Chicago, Illinois; one great niece Hayley Henry, Topeka, Kansas; three great nephews Nick Henry, Topeka, Kansas, Keith Gomez, Iola, Kansas, Logan Erbert, Iola, Kansas. A visitation for Donna will be Tuesday March 12, 2019 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday March 13, 2019 at 10:00a.m., at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, 1883 Us-Hwy 54 Iola, Kansas. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Iola, Kansas. Memorials in honor of Donna are suggested to Allen County Animal Rescue Facility and can be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
