Doris Marie Moore

Doris Marie Moore, age 100 years and 9 months, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at Parkview Heights, Garnett, Kansas.   She was born April 9, 1918, in Ovid, Michigan, the daughter of Clayton and Clara Christine (Schonshack) Vance.  Doris graduated high school in Detroit, Michigan and attended a business school in St. John’s Michigan.  Doris married J. Earl Moore on October 26, 1947, in Ovid, Michigan. She worked as a bookkeeper while she and Earl lived in Michigan.  After moving to Colony, Kansas, she enjoyed her church, playing the piano and also giving piano lessons.  She also loved to travel throughout the United States with her husband. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and her husband. Doris is survived by her sister, Donna Barrows of Ann Arbor, Michigan; sister-in-law, Susan Vance of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Colony Community Church, Colony, Kansas.  Burial will follow in the Colony Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Colony Community Church.
